Job Description

The Newcastle Police Department is looking to fill three positions within the Patrol Division. People who are self motivated with interdependent skills should apply. Uncertified applicants will be required to take a written exam and physical testing-- WLEA standards. Successful candidates will then be made a conditional offer of employment. Candidate will then be required to take physical and Psychological examinations. As a full time employee of the City of Newcastle the following compensation is offered: Wage-Starting wyoming temporary certification is $13.78hr. Basic Certification is $14.28. End of Probation increase of .50 cents per hour to total $14.78hr. Advanced Certification has an increase of .50 cents an hour total of $15.28. Professional Certification increase of .50 cents and hour to total $15.78. Cost of living increases are typical, longevity at 6 years. Paid overtime. Twenty six pay periods a year. Health and Dental insurance premiums are paid by City. City Contributes to Wyoming Retirement. State Statute driven retirement of 20 years of service and you can retire with one half of your averaged five highest years wages. There is a 2.5 percent increase every year after 20 with a max of 30 years of service and 75 percent of your averaged highest five years wages. Sick leave,Vacation, paid membership to fitness center. Additional Information

Officers who are certified in another state with in the past 5 years may qualify for Wyoming POST certification by taking a challenge exam to include firearms qualification, proof of CPR certification and successfully completing the Wyoming Criminal Law and Procedures training at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy.
