The Comal County Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Fire Marshal / Inspector. JOB SUMMARY: This individual provides expertise, develops, organizes, directs and/or implements programs regarding fire prevention, protection, suppression, and code enforcement in the unincorporated areas of the county.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or G.E.D.; Two years of commissioned Law Enforcement experience; Valid Texas driver’s license at the time of placement (and be insurable by the county’s liability and fleet insurance carrier); Pass a written entrance exam, physical agility test, drug screen, criminal history/background check, physical exam, and a psychological exam; Age 21 at time of placement; TCLEOSE certified Peace Officer (basics); Certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Personnel Standards as an Inspector; (Will be certified as an Arson Investigator within 1 year after hired.)
