The Village of Schiller Park is accepting applications for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, but less than 35 years of age at time of application. All applicants must have a minimum 48 hours of undergraduate college credit and be a US citizen at time of appointment. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. Appointment to the eligibility list will be based upon satisfactory completion of written, physical agility, and oral exams. The final determination will be made upon completion of a psychological, polygraph, and medical examination as positions become available. Cooperation with a background check is mandatory.
Application and benefit packets are available during normal business hours at the Village of Schiller Park Administrative Office, located at 9526 Irving Park Road, Schiller Park, IL 60176. A $10 nonrefundable application fee is required to pick up an application packet. Applicants are required to attend a mandatory orientation session at the Community Center, 4501 N. 25th Avenue, Schiller Park, IL 60176 on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 8 P.M. The written examination will be held on Saturday, February 12, at 9 A.M at the Community Center, 4501 N. 25th Ave., Schiller Park, IL 60176. Applicants that pass the written exam will be allowed to attempt the physical agility test on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 8 A.M.
Deadline for filing applications is Monday, January 31, 2011 at 4 P.M.
Salary Range: $51,732.00 to $79,461.00 with longevity, along with a full range of benefits.
