Serve as first contact when the public, emergency services or law enforcement personnel need assistance. Receive contact by phone, person, or radio, monitor computers and security monitors and dispatch calls to the appropriate agency/department/personnel.

Requirements: HS/GED, ability to obtain valid ALERT/REJIS certification and MULES/NCIC certification, emergency dispatch experience preferred, but not required. Must have the ability to work in a restricted access environment and maintain confidential information. Must be computer literate. Ability to operate radio equipment. Good judgment, excellent listening skills, good communication and customer service skills required, ability to read maps and follow directions, perform multiple tasks in an emergency situation. Physical requirements include normal conversation in the English language, must be able to use hands and fingers to operate tools, objects, and controls. Must be able to reach with hands and arms, vision sufficient to see close up and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work various day and night time shifts, including weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime.
May be subject to polygraph examination, and random drug testing.
