Highly responsible professional and technical work involving daily support and maintenance for various PC computer systems within the Alachua County Sheriff's Office. Work includes the evaluation and installation of new hardware and software, the maintenance of existing equipment and programs, performing maintenance on various systems for security, provide training for employees, and the troubleshooting of both PC hardware and software problems. An employee in this position works under the direct supervision of the ITB Director and is evaluated through meetings, observation, results obtained, and appropriate employee performance appraisals.
SALARY: Salary: $17.5688/ hourly, plus 1%-10% above base for each year of comparable qualifying experience at a mid to large size agency. Annual educational incentive: Associate’s $996, Bachelor’s $2,004, Master’s $2,496.

- Education: Associate's Degree
- Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience managing and maintaining personal computers in an office environment.
Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Preferred Major(s): Computer Science, Data Processing, or related field.
Two (2) or more years of experience managing and maintaining personal computers in an office environment. Hardware and software experience (including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite applications) required, including the installation of programs and peripherals.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or related certification in Microsoft (A+ and/or MCSE) may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
CJIS Certification within Six (6) months after hire.
Any combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
Four (4) or more years of experience managing and maintaining personal computers may substitute for an Associate’s Degree.
