Job Description

The Washakie County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for an open patrol position. The patrol division handles calls for service, assists both other law enforcement agencies, and emergency services with calls, and all other functions expected of a peace officer. A Patrol Deputy must be willing to also help with some court transports of inmates when the detention division is not available to do it.

Washakie County is located near the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming. It is 2,243 square miles and has a population of 8,351 people. Washakie County offers full time benefits including retirement, medical, sick, and vacation time in addition to offering comp time. There is no state tax in Wyoming and property is relatively inexpensive. An employee is put into the Wyoming Retirement system for law enforcement and you can start drawing at 20 yeas or work 30 years and max out on your benefits. Lateral transfers will receive 80 percent of years of service applied to their starting wage. The below wages are figured without overtime. Overtime is guaranteed because of the position.
