For Lateral Police Officers ONLY: All applicants must be Basic Law Enforcement Training graduates or equivalent as accepted by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.
The City shall pay a hiring bonus of $5,000 for experienced police officers recruited to the City in two equal installments of $2,500. The first installment shall occur upon meeting the requirements for the Equivalency Academy (medical clearance and firearms qualification); the second successful completion of the one-year probationary period.
