The Plainfield Metropolitan Police Department is now accepting applications for the positions of full-time Probationary Police Officer, part-time Reserve Police Officer, and part-time Community Support Officer. All applications must be completed online at ++www.townofplainfield.com++.
Probationary Police Officer applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 35 years old. Reserve Police Officer applicants must be at least 21 years old. Community Support Officer applicants must be at least 18 years old.
All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, must possess a valid driver’s license, and must be able to pass a criminal background check. If an applicant is certified with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, they must be current and in good standing.
Community Support Officer - $11.00 per hour
Probationary Police Officer start at $46,280 annually
1st Class Officer pay $54,288-$59,163 annually

- Experience: Accepting Lateral Officers and New Officers
The hiring process will include all of the following: Physical Agility Test (this step will not apply to Community Support Officer applicants), Written Examination (All applicants will be required to register at ++www.Empco.net++ and physically take the test at their nearest Ivy Tech location at their own expense), Supervisor Interview Board, CVSA Test, Background Investigation, Physical Exam (this step will not apply to Community Support Officer applicants), Psychological Exam (this step will not apply to Community Support Officer applicants), Chiefs Board Interview, and Police Commissioner Review Board.
