Full Time Deputy Sheriff Position in Kiowa County Colorado
Applicant must be a valid POST CERTIFIED Colorado peace officer or be able to obtain Colorado Post within 30 days, have valid Colorado drivers license, must be able to pass back ground check, must be able to pass a drug screening, must have a good driving record, must not have any felony convictions. Applicant must be physically fit and be able to pass physical exam. The applicant must have good moral character.
The Deputy promotes and preserves order, investigates crimes and criminal activity, conducts traffic violation enforcement, provides court testimony, defends persons from imminent physical harm, responds to request of service and resolves conflicts between individuals and groups and can make an arrest. Patrols county and city to detect illegal activities and to ensure the security and safety of businesses and homes. Must be willing to work shift work and be on call. Will serve summons, subpoenas and warrants. Be able to write and file reports. He/She is a protector of constitutional guarantees and an enforcer of county ordinances, federal and state statutes. Deputy will have other duties as assigned.
