Job Description

BROWARD COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT Juvenile Civil Citation CASE MANAGER II Salary Range $40,321.00 - $59,793.00 per year Position provides advanced social case management and/or resource referral work for criminal “at-risk” youth into a diversion type programs. Youth must be screened, presented life skill programs that are available, assigned to a program or intervention service, and monitored throughout the course of the program. Position will require meeting with youth at alternate sites such as: schools, community facilities and homes, and working with both youth and their families to assist in resolving issues related to the offense committed by the youth. Knowledge of and referrals to other social service and community organizations may be necessary. Overall assisting youth in the successful achievement of their goals is required.

Additional Information

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in Criminal Justice, Public Safety Management/Administration, Sociology, Psychology, Behavioral Science or other field closely related to the area of assignment; two (2) years of experience in youth/juvenile justice social case work, law enforcement, counseling, social service or closely related work; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and be able to drive and the ability to obtain and maintain authorization to drive on County business at the time of appointment. Current or past certification as a Law Enforcement or Corrections officer, or other related public safety field is preferred.
