$3,000 hiring incentive for certified, experienced officers
The City of Belton is currently accepting applications for Police Officer positions. You do not have to be certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) to apply. Non certified applicants who are hired will be required to attend a regional police academy at the City’s expense and be paid while attending the academy.
A $3,000 hiring incentive may be offered to those applicants with both certification and experience. Applicants with eligible prior police service in other law enforcement agencies may be eligible to receive a starting salary higher than entry level.
Applicants must pass a written and physical exam to be administered on Friday, February 22, 2013, at 8:00 am – Belton Police Department.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR POLICE OFFICER
1. You must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. By the date of commission as a Belton Police Officer, you must be at least 21 years of age and not yet 45 years of age.
3. At the time of application, you must have a High School Diploma or a G.E.D.
4. You must have a valid driver’s license.
