All applicants are required to have attended and successfully completed a California P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement academy. To qualify, canidates must meet ALL California P.O.S.T. standards for a Deputy Sheriff and have not been separated from employment as a law enforcement officer for more that three years. Candidates must possess a valid California Drivers License as well as be free of pending civil or pending departmental disipline.
Qualified applicants will be invited to an oral interview. Following successful completion of the oral interview, a background investigation will be completed on the top candidates. All applicants who successfully complete the background investigation may then be scheduled for a psychological examination.Successful completion of all phases of the Modoc County testing process is required.

The monthly salary, exluding incentive pay which may include, but not limited to;
Education incentive, Shift differential pay, On-call pay, Take home vehicle, $900.00 Annual Uniform Allowance, Overtime paid or compensation.

This position is ideal for an entry level canidate with the desire to obtain law enforcement experience in a variety of field or an experienced law enforcement officer with a desire to work a set schedule with moderate call volume.
