The Jenks Police Department is accepting applications
for the position of Probationary Police Officer.
Description of Duties:
Under the direction of a superior officer, a police officer performs responsible police work in a professional manner in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances; and performs related duties as assigned and required. Work involves various shifts, extended hours and holidays and weekends. Work does have an element or personal danger. Patrols a designated area of the City in a patrol car to preserve peace, law and order, to prevent and discover the commission of crimes, and to enforce misdemeanour's and felonies and takes necessary police action; makes arrests.
Graduation from high school or its equivalent and sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college or university and must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
License and or Certificate:
Valid Oklahoma drivers license/CLEET certification or be certified by CLEET within six (6) months of employment, bondable, and, maintain any required certifications related to the positions of Police Office; and submit to a physical and psychological examination as provided by State statue and or City ordinance.
Requisite Knowledge and skill Levels:
Operating and maintaining the usage of firearms, police radio, and equipment, operating a motor vehicle, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with other City personnel, officials, and the general public.
Must meet requirements for Oklahoma Police Pension, have a valid Oklahoma driver's license with driving record free form serious or frequent violations, and no felony or major misdemeanour's convictions. Unique mental stresses associated with police operation demands may be present.
