The City of Springfield, Missouri is seeking individuals
with experience in law enforcement. The starting salary for lateral hire ranges from $35,027.20 to $45,052.80, plus clothing allowance and paid employee health insurance.

The Springfield Police Department is comprised of over 300 sworn staff members and approximately 100 civilian staff members. We have a variety of special assignments including the following : Traffic, Special Response Team, K-9, Investigations, Special Investigation Units, Community Services, University Sub-Stations, Hostage Negotiations and Narcotics.

Experience: 2 years Law Enforcement experience (working calls for service) plus be able to obtain a Missouri POST Class A license
Lateral candidates must possess a Class A MO POST (Lateral candidates who possess the required experience, but whose current law enforcement certification is through another state, may participate in the testing process while seeking reciprocity through Missouri POST)and have a minimum of 2 years full-time sworn police experience (primary experience must include responding to calls for service, conducting preliminary and/or follow-up investigations of crimes, responding to traffic accidents and apprehending, detaining and arresting suspects) in any state within the last five years.
