Must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 21 years of age with an Associate’s Degree or equivalent college credits. Absent the college requirement, must have a minimum of 2 years prior experience as a sworn, full-time law enforcement officer, or 2 years active military service. Individuals who are ‘Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards’ (MCOLES) licensed/certified or eligible for MCOLES Recognition of Prior Training and Experience Program are preferred. Candidates must pass an entry-level exam, panel interview, extensive background investigation, physical and psychological exams and drug screen.
$44,595.20 annually ($21.44/hour)
Special note: Individuals working as a full-time sworn officer with an law enforcement agency for 2 years or more will have a starting pay of $47,923.20 annually (23.04/hour).
