The Gardner Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. We are seeking highly motivated men and women who possess a strong ability to work with the public in a professional manner. It is the mission of the Gardner Police Department to serve all persons with respect, courtesy and fairness and to provide professional and ethical public safety services.
The position performs general duty police work consisting of patrol work on an assigned shift, preliminary investigation and miscellaneous duties incidental thereto. Duties are performed in accordance with departmental rules, instructions, and assistance when special problems arise, although a Police Officer is required to exercise initiative and discretion when faced with emergency conditions. The work may involve an element of personal danger.
Age: 21 yoa minimum
Education: High School/GED minimum
Experience: POST Certified preferred
Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. Physical and mental fitness required. This position does entail rotating shift work and the successful applicant must have the ability to work any and all assigned shifts.
