The Elbert County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for full time Detention Deputies. Detention Deputies will process newly admitted inmates, maintain security and inmate accountability, and maintain order and enforce rules and regulations to detainees at the Elbert County Jail. Provides security of inmates, civilians, and staff during visitation, physical recreation, and other inmate movements. Prepares detailed and accurate reports, records,statistics, and/or logs on daily activities. Transports inmates, suspects, and/or applicable individuals to appropriate facilities and /or locations. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Interprets, conveys, and ensures the policies of the Office are followed. Performs duties as assigned and required by law.

Those who pass the aptitude test will continue to the second phase. The second phase consists of a series of exams, including: oral board interview, CVSA, Psychological exam, physical, drug test, and an extensive background check. Education: POST Certified
Have a basic P.O.S.T certification from the State of Colorado, or have a conditional P.O.S.T
Be a U.S. Citizen.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Have a highschool dipoloma or G.E.D
Possess basic comupter skills.
Have never been convictid of a felony.
Have the ability to perform all essential functionsl of the job.
Have absolutly had no illegal drug usage within the last three years and no alcohol related offenses withing the last five yers.
No Domestic violence convictions.
