The Breckenridge Police Department practices a community policing philosophy and recruits officers who demonstrate effective communication and problem resolution skills that will complement our commitment to build and maintain strong relationships with the community. Under general supervision, the police officer performs a variety of routine and complex public safety work in the performance and administration of police patrol, investigation, traffic regulations, citizen assistance, and related law enforcement activiites. The Department is seeking qualified applicants who are POST certified or certifiable and have a minimum of 60 semester credit hours of higher education at an accredited college or university. Credit hours earned at the Police Academy count towards the 60 hours. Candidates will be selected based on a combination of both education and experience.
