Now Hiring One (1) Part Time Officer The City of Elsberry, a Lincoln County city with a population of 2,000, is seeking qualified applicants to fill one part-time Police Officer position. Only applicants with current Missouri P.O.S.T. certification, or those nearing completion of a Missouri P.O.S.T. approved law enforcement academy will be considered. After completing a 50 hour field training program, officers are responsible for law enforcement work involving the prevention, detection, and investigation of criminal acts, the apprehension, and arrest of law violators, and the safeguarding of lives and property. Uniforms -including body armor- are provided, however, officers must provide their own duty gear, firearm, and boots. As well as possessing a P.O.S.T. certification, applicants must be 21 years of age, have a High School Diploma or G.E.D., be free from any felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude, and possess a valid Missouri driver's license. Law Enforcement experience is not necessary, but preferred. The Elsberry Police Department applicant screening process consists of the following steps:
Following the oral board interview a conditional offer of employment may be given at the discretion of the Chief of Police. Applications must be completed in person at the Elsberry City Hall located at: 201 Broadway St Elsberry, MO 63343. At the time of application, please bring a copy of your driver's license, all applicable certifications, and a copy of your high school diploma or G.E.D. Part-time Officers are paid at a rate of $10.00 per hour.
