Job Description

The Montezuma County Sheriff's Office has openings for full time Patrol Deputies. The pay range is $39,000 to $48,000 DOE. This is an entry level position. Basic requirements are 21 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, POST certification, able to pass physical fitness test, able to work out doors in all weather conditions, able to work rotating shifts, driver license, no felony convictions of misdemeanor convictions which would effect POST certification, 20/20 corrected vision. Deputies are responsible for general patrol functions in unincorporated Montezuma County, which is approximately 2,200 square miles, including the Town of Dolores. To include enforcing State and local laws, investigating criminal complaints, and public service. Some of the benefits include take home cars, health, vision, dental insurance. Issued uniforms, duty gear, firearms, vest, boots. Our patrol deputies work four ten hours shifts per week.
