All testing through National Testing Network must be completed by April 5, 2014. Salary Information: Starting pay $19.52 Benefit Information:Benefit package includes comprehensive medical coverage, dental and life insurance. Communications Officers are covered by the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System. Department Overview: The Perrysburg Police Division employs 46 full time employees, 33 full time sworn officers and 13 civilian employees. Eight of the civilian employees are assigned as Communication Officers (dispatchers). Communication Officers are call taker/dispatchers for Police, Fire/EMS, 911, and City Services. Communication Officers also served as Deputy Clerks for Perrysburg Municipal Court accept fines and bonds, enter warrants, and complete court commitment paperwork after hours. Area Information: The City of Perrysburg is located in Wood County in Northwest Ohio. It is situated just off of I75 along the Maumee River, just minutes away from Lake Erie. Perrysburg has a beautiful historic downtown district, nationally ranked library and outstanding school system. Perrysburg also boasts an extensive park system, including 11 parks covering 238 acres. Perrysburg was voted as one of Ohio’s Best Home Towns by Ohio Magazine in 2009. Perrysburg is home to the largest reconstructed wooden walled fortification in North America that was designed to defend Ohio against British invasion in the war of 1812. Expunged and sealed criminal records are subject to review by the Police Division for disqualifying criminal history. Veteran’s Points: Honorably discharged veterans are entitled to receive an additional 5% added to their passing score. In order to receive this credit, candidates must submit a legible copy of their DD214s to the HR office no later than the posted closing date. Late submissions will not be accepted.
