Job Description

The Chickasha Police Department offers a place for a career not just a job. We are constantly on the lookout for highly motivated exceptional people to join our team of professionals in the fast paced field of Emergency Services Dispatching. Communication Specialists receive calls from the public and dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS as well as handle radio calls from first responders in the field. Salary: A Communications Specialist’s base salary is $26,314.08 a year with the potential for more based on shift differential and longevity pay along with overtime. Shifts Shifts are 7 am - 3 pm, 3 pm - 11 pm, and 11 pm - 7 am Health Insurance Employees pay $100 a month for individual health insurance and $180 a month for family coverage along with free ambulance service for all people who reside in your home if you live in the city of Chickasha. Leave Time Employees accrue 8 hours of sick time each month with a maximum of 360 hours. Vacation is accrued based on length of service with 5-20 days a year possible with a maximum of 30 days accrued if not used. Retirement Employees are enrolled with the Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund and the Chickasha Plan is recognized as being one of the very best in the state of Oklahoma with vesting after 10 years in the system. Employees with time in OMRF at another municipality may be eligible to have that time attached to their retirement in Chickasha. Holidays: The City of Chickasha recognizes 9 paid holidays for full-time employees:

Additional Information

Must be able to effectively use computers and two way radio systems in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment that handles Police, Fire, and EMS calls for service. Positions are open until filled.

Job Requirements

Must meet state and federal standards for certification to use NCIC/OLETS systems as well as comply with all HIPPA regulations for medical dispatching.
