Duties include patrol of an assigned area for the purpose of crime prevention, law enforcement, and providing for general public safety. This may include the investigation of crimes, identification and apprehension of offenders, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, and providing emergency services. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and a history of demonstrated common sense and sound decision-making. Applicants must be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively. An extensive benefit package, which includes medical and dental, 11 paid Holidays, accrued sick time, personal days, and vacation days is offered. Work week is 40 hours, working four days on and three days off.

The Keene, NH Police Department is seeking both certified Police Officers and non-certified trainees to fill current openings. Out of State certifications are accepted in New Hampshire, but require a non-NH certified Officer to attend select NH Police Standards and Training Academy law classes. Completion of the Departments Field Training and Evaluation Program is required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, 21 years of age or older upon appointment, have a High School diploma and a valid drivers license. Initial starting salary dependent on experience.
