The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department is accepting applications for a full-time Patrol Deputy. This position patrols, responds to calls for service, investigates offenses, enforces traffic laws, serves civil papers, and transports inmates to medical appointments, court and other detention facilities. This position requires the person to work varied shifts including nights and weekends. Patrol assignments may be in the rural part of the county or inside city limits depending on the needs of the department. Hardeman County offers a competitive salary with paid overtime, a uniform allowance, take-home car, sick time, personal days, vacation, medical insurance and retirement. Applicants must be peace officer certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement or be a recent graduate of a Texas Peace Officer Academy. Out of state applicants should contact the commission on law enforcement to obtain information on obtaining a Texas license before applying. All applicants must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be able to pass a drug screen, psychological test and physical examination.
