PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES: The Policy Implementation Contractor is responsible for assisting Lexipol clients in achieving initial adoption of their policy manual. This includes customizing their Lexipol policy manual to fit the needs of the agency, bringing the policy manual online within a specified time frame and providing policy-related training to the client. It may also include on-going support in some circumstances. The Policy Implementation Contractor will focus on building and maintaining relationships with the clients he/she assists, and will serve as the “face of Lexipol” for those clients. Occasional travel is required. This role requires the ability to work 30-40 hours per week. SCOPE OF WORK:
  • Provide start-to-finish project management to effectuate a timely policy manual launch date for the client
  • Conduct on-site or remote meetings with clients prior to and during the implementation project
  • Provide the client with a customized overview of project objectives, timelines and goals
  • Manage stakeholder participation with respect to project phases and goals
  • Review and cross-reference client’s existing policy-related content to Lexipol policy content
  • Analyze the client’s existing content for applicability subsequent to Lexipol policy implementation
  • Work with the client to ensure existing content is appropriately addressed; validate existing content against Lexipol policy content
  • Assist in modifying existing content to ensure internal consistency with Lexipol content
  • Meet with the client and determine specific agency needs and practices with respect to Lexipol master content
  • Provide appropriate direction in resolving content/practice discrepancies
  • Direct specific client inquiries to appropriate Lexipol or client entities
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of project activities and statuses
  • Create and provide on-site client-specific training to coincide with implementation phase conclusion
  • Provide on-site content-related training to client as needed
  • Provide appropriate feedback on Lexipol product lines to Content Development and Quality Assurance teams

CONTRACTOR PROFESSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS: The ideal Policy Implementation Contractor will be detail oriented, analytical, resourceful, self-motivated and have impeccable written and verbal communication skills. He/she must also possess exceptional project management skills and be familiar with common law enforcement, fire or custody procedures, methods and terminology, including a familiarity with the roles various stakeholders play during an administrative policy-approval process. The Policy Implementation Contractor must demonstrate the ability to listen with understanding, and exhibit a collaborative, team-oriented style when working with clients. It is essential the Policy Implementation Contractor be mission motivated and committed to excellence. He/she will be ethical and a professional at all levels. Professional Background Should Include:
  • Minimum of ten years experience in the public safety sector is required
  • Experience with the development and review of policy and procedures, and the application of law to public safety agencies, is essential
  • Ability to research and understand federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
  • Well-developed understanding of policies, procedures, practices and administration in one or more of Lexipol’s product lines - Fire, Custody, Law Enforcement

COMPENSATION: The Policy Implementation Contractor will receive competitive compensation on a per-project basis. A contracted agency support role may be available in some instances.
