Job Description

Mission Statement: "The mission of the Twin Falls Police Department is to provide a safe community environment and ensure a positive quality of life through dedicated, professional service in partnership with our community." Preserves the public peace, protects life and property, prevents crimes, arrests violators of the law, enforces all laws and ordinances of the State of Idaho and the City and County of Twin Falls. Patrols assigned area using patrol car, motorcycle, or on foot; responds to calls for service; initiates police action when appropriate; investigates crimes in progress; mediate disputes; renders aid to the sick, injured and those desiring assistance; performs other tasks as required. The Department is committed to a philosophy of community policing and problem-oriented policing. Officers work with members of the community to identify and solve problems as articulated by the community using a specific problem-solving model.

Additional Information

The City of Twin Falls will be conducting an open recruitment for Police Officer. This testing will be conducted to fill five (5) vacant positions and establish a pool of qualified applicants from which future vacancies will be filled. Job Requirements

  • Age: : 21
  • Education: : High School Diploma/ GED
  • Experience: : None
APPLICANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF EMPLOYMENT AND A U.S. CITIZEN. Position requires high school graduation or equivalency; valid driver’s license; good written and oral communication skills; good reading comprehension skills; ability to successfully complete testing requirements. Police officers must have the ability to function on a day-to-day basis without close supervision or assistance. The department is looking for officer candidates who are community minded with a service orientation. The selection process consists of:
  • Oral Interview Board
  • Physical Agility Test
  • Polygraph
  • Psychological Testing
  • Complete Background Investigation
  • Drug Screen
