The Lake Delton Police Department is a full?service, community oriented, and fast?paced tourist and seasonal visitor based law enforcement agency with 20 full?time sworn o?cers, 3 part?time patrol o?cers/water patrol o?cers and 2 civilians. The Department has a 2014 General Operating Budget of approximately $2.35million. The department enjoys an extremely low employee turnover and the Chief of Police has served the department in all positions for the past 37 years and will retire on June 30, 2014. Effective July 1, 2014, the newly appointed Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police will assume command of the department.
The police department is seeking a seasoned and visionary leader for this position, who will administer direction, planning, and oversight as "second?in?command" of the department. As the second highest level management position, the Administrative Lieutenant will work closely and assist the Chief of Police in the management and operation of the Lake Delton Police Department and its employees.

The position requires a minimum of four years’ experience as police supervisor on the Lake Delton Police Department (an outside applicant’s experience in another law enforcement agency may be substituted on a one and one-half [1 1/2] for one  year basis); an associate degree in criminal justice or police science; knowledge in the principles and application of supervision, management, or command; ability to perform the essential tasks/ functions of the job; and any combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work.
The successful candidate must meet the requirements of the Wisconsin Department of Justice Employment Standards.
