All candidates must complete the ORPAT and Frontline National tests for this position. ORPAT is scheduled separately from the NTN home page. You must schedule both a Frontline National and ORPAT test for this position. Testing for both Frontline National and ORPAT is available at the Brooklake campus of Chemeketa Community CollegeThe Sheriff’s Office utilizes NTN’s Personnel History Questionnaire but it is not required for this process.For Out-of-State Applicants: An application may be accepted without an ORPAT score. Marion County will obtain a copy of the driving record for all qualified applicants from Driver and Motor Vehicle Services.•    Selected applicants will be required to complete pre-employment questionnaires as part of the screening process.•    Possess knowledge of and experience using a computer keyboard and PC equipment.•    Possess the ability to work rotating shifts, split shifts or other alternative work schedules.•    Final candidates will be subject to a personal background investigation including, but not limited to, employment, criminal and driving histories.•    Final candidates selected for this position will be required to participate in a panel interview, a psychological test, medical examination, and drug/alcohol screening, by a county appointed medical doctor.Additional Requirements:For Certified Level: *    Eighteen (18) months experience as a Police Officer or Deputy, OR any equivalent acceptable combination of education and Police Officer experience.*    Possess a Basic Police certification from the Department of Public Safety, Standards and Training, and/or any equivalent out-of-state law enforcement accreditation recognized by DPSST; OR*    Applicants who are certified in another state: *    Must attend and pass DPSST Career Officer Development Course, within 12 months of hire date.*    Successful out-of-state applicants are at the Deputy Sheriff Trainee level and wage range until Oregon certification is achieved.
