The Concord Police Department is now accepting applications from both certified and non-certified police officer candidates.
The Concord Police Department is one of New Hampshire’s largest and busiest municipal departments. In addition to patrol, we offer a number of specialty divisions including Investigations, Traffic Enforcement, Computer Crimes, Community Resources and an undercover Drug Unit.
The City of Concord has 43,000 residents with a significantly higher daytime population. Concord is the state capital as well as a regional center for commerce, medicine, and education. The city is located one hour north of Boston. The Concord Police Department has 84 full-time police officers.
To provide the highest possible level of service to our community, we are seeking intelligent, perceptive, and motivated police officer candidates with good judgment and strong character. A written test will be administered at Concord High School on the morning of Saturday, September 6th, followed by a physical ability test in the afternoon.

Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma plus one or more of the following:
1. Knowledge acquired through a minimum of 60 credit hours in an associate or baccalaureate educational program; or
2. Two years of full time experience as a certified police officer at the time of appointment; or
3. Four years of active military service with an honorable discharge.
A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
Candidates shall have no body art, tattoos, intentional scarring or mutilation that would be visible while wearing a short-sleeve uniform.
