Additional Information

The Town of Oak Creek was incorporated in 1907, and has long since been home for hardworking ranchers, rough and tumble miners and those that prefer unbeatable mountain lifestyles.

Today a few stores, restaurants and a motel dot the quaint downtown, while tree-lined neighborhoods and a big park open up off Main Street. While there are many summer community activities, Oak Creek is known for the weekend long Labor Day Celebration.  The Town is poised to broaden its economy and jobs base with the advent of well-regulated recreational marijuana-related businesses.

Stagecoach State Park is one of Oak Creek's most popular recreational facilities. The park's highlight is a 780-acre reservoir with a full-service marina. Here visitors can boat, watch the wildlife or fish for plump Northern Pike and Rainbow Trout.

The rolling country roads are popular with the biking crowd. There are beautiful cross country skiing and hiking trails nearby, and a big ice rink for figure skating or hockey. Additional outdoor adventures take place in the adjacent Routt National Forest and at the ski and snowboard areas in Steamboat Springs.
