Purpose: To establish an eligibility list for Certified Police Officer candidates only. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply. Position Summary: Position coordinates within various divisions of the Police Department relating to the protection of life and property; enforce state/federal law and municipal ordinances; preserve order throughout the community; and respond to community needs.

Hourly Salary Rate: $20.18 (P.O.S.T. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED (college degree or college course work in criminal justice preferred), valid Driver’s License by date of hire, a good driving record, pass a comprehensive written examination, physical agility test, oral interview, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, undergo an extensive background investigation with the ability to render credible testimony in a court of law, pass a medical examination and drug screen, successfully complete a Field Training Officer program, and serve a 12-month probationary period after appointment. Required to have passed a state certified police academy for a Class "A", P.O.S.T. certification for 600 hours. Bilingual Skills Preferred.
