The Sheriff's Office currently deploys 124 deputies into its core assignments plus its Detective Bureau, DARE/SRO, SRT, and CCW/SORN units. Last year the Sheriff's Office had 26,000 calls for service and 4,400 inmates booked into its corrections facility.New Jail Expansion: The County has just authorized a jail expansion for 2015 that will add 60 additional minimum security beds.County Information:Wood County covers 617.4 square miles and is situated just south of Toledo, Ohio. It is home of Bowling Green State University, Owens Community College, Owens Illinois World Headquarters, First Solar Inc.,Magna International, Chrysler Group LLC, and Wood County Hospital.
