The Crestline Police Department is looking for Full-Time applicants for Police Captain. Second in rank to the Chief of Police, the Police Captain assumes full responsibility for command of the Department in the absence of the Chief of Police. Application and Resume for the position of “Police Captain” will be accepted by the Crestline Police Department until 4:30 P.M. on October 6th, 2014. QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of secondary education and certification from Basic Police Officer Training School; experience which indicates a thorough knowledge of departmental policy and procedure, management principles and law enforcement administration. Applicants must have minimum of 10 years’ experience in law enforcement field.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Ohio Peace Officer Certification, valid State of Ohio driver’s license, BAC verifier permit, radar training/certification, LEADS qualification, annual firearms certification.
SKILL: motor vehicle operation; operation and care of firearms; computer operation; crime scene processing.
ABILITY: deal with many variables and determine specific action; recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate action; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; exercise independent judgment and discretion; understand interpret and apply laws, rules, or regulations to specific situations; compile and prepare reports; prepare accurate documentation; communicate effectively; train or instruct others; develop and maintain effective working relationships; resolve complaints; demonstrate physical agility; subdue and restrain suspects and prisoners
