The City of Green Bay is currently accepting applications for the position of Patrol Officer. An eligibility list will be established to fill anticipated vacancies in 2015. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: - Good knowledge of the principles, methods, priorities, and techniques of police work. Good knowledge of departmental rules and regulations. Good knowledge of controlling laws and ordinances including federal, state, and local. Good knowledge of the streets and locations within the City. Knowledge of the methods of interrogation, presenting evidence and what constitutes admissible evidence. - Considerable skill in the use and care of firearms and in the operation of motor vehicles. Working skill in the application of modern principles and practices utilized in general police work. Working skill in reacting quickly and calmly in emergencies. Working skill in expressing oneself clearly and concisely. - Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to utilize a computer and the required software. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the staff and the general public. Ability to work the required hours of the position.
May be required to demonstrate minimum competency by successfully passing approved tests.
- Age: 18
- Education: Associate Degree or 60 credits from an accredited college or university by January 1, 2015
- Experience: -
Minimum of an Associate Degree or 60 college credits from an accredited college or university.
Certified or certifiable as a law enforcement officer in the State of Wisconsin.
18 years of age or older.
U.S. citizen with no felony convictions.
Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
Must have acceptable personal and professional history as determined by successfully completing a background investigation.
