Job Description

The Casper Police Department will hold lateral entry officer testing on September 17th in Casper, Wyoming. Base pay of $53,622.40 to $62,108.80 depending on experience. Additional education pay. After completing the Police Training Program(field training) and the first 6 months of service, lateral hires are eligible for a one time stipend of $1,500 to $5,000 at the Chief's discretion based on prior experience and distance required to relocate to Casper, WY.

Job Requirements

  • Age: 21
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 2 years in uniform patrol

To be eligible for lateral entry, applicants must have 2 years previous related qualifying experience in good standing within the 3 year period immediately preceding the application. Qualifying experience shall consist of full-time paid employment as a Police Officer in a full service Police Department, Sheriff's Office, or Highway Patrol. Previous employment as an officer must be in a city or town with a population of at leat 4,500 or in a city or town that is part of a larger metropolitan area with at least 30,000 population.
