The City of Bowie, Maryland is seeking certified police officers for employment with a rapidly growing
The Bowie Police Department was established in 2006 by over-whelming vote from the city residents. City officers respond to calls for service in a city of 18.51 square miles with over 56,000 citizens. Officers are charged with maintaining order, protecting life and property and upholding the ordinances of the City of Bowie and the laws of the State of Maryland.

Laterals starting salary:
$47,476 to $54,598, commensurate with experience
- Age: 21 years or older
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience: Sworn Police Officer
Valid Maryland driver’s license with overall good driving record
Must be a US citizen
Must meet the standards set by Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission (MPCTC)
- Must be certified or certifiable by MPCTC
- All applicants must pass a Physical agility test to be considered for employment
