Communications Officer

The Washakie County Sheriff's Office is accepting on going applications for positions in the communication division. The communication division is responsible for all calls for service for Washakie County. They dispatch law enforcement, fire and ems, and other emergency services to calls, handle radio traffic for those entities. They are responsible for running NCIC requests and are a vital part of the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office has three current openings to fill and will keep this post going until those positions are filled.

Washakie County is located near the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming. It is 2,243 square miles and has a population of 8,351 people. Washakie County offers full time benefits including retirement, medical, sick, and vacation time in addition to offering comp time. There is no state tax in Wyoming and property is relatively inexpensive. An employee is put into the Wyomign Retirement system for law enforcement and you can start drawing at 20 yeas or work 30 years and max out on your benefits.

Lateral transfers will receive 80 percent of years of service applied to their starting wage. The below wages are figured without overtime. Overtime is guaranteed because of the position.
