NYPD black and blue: Surge in NYPD crashes

NEW YORK — The NYPD's cars are taking a beating out on the beat.

The total number of cop-car accidents surged by 11 percent over the past three years, with many of the department's 8,839-unit fleet damaged, The Post has learned.
