K.C. police officers become targets in rash of shootings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Kansas City police officials can't remember a year when so many officers have been shot in the line of duty.

The shooting of two officers Tuesday brings to five the number wounded by bullets this year. None has died, but one injured last week remained hospitalized Friday in critical condition.
