Bulletproof vest saves Chicago officer's life in store stabbing

CHICAGO, Ill. — A bulletproof vest protected a Chicago Police officer from more than bullets Monday, saving her life when a suspect stabbed her during an arrest, prosecutors said.

Lynett Rivera, 27, is charged with attempted murder of a peace officer. Cook County Judge Maura Slattery Boyle set bond at $400,000.
