NEW YORK — A cop was hit by an attacker while trying to restrain a woman in Upper Manhattan Friday, New York Daily News reports.
When cops approached Terrell Mitchell, 26, for having an open container, his sister Asia Banks, 38, intervened.
Cops tried to restrain Banks who was punching, scratching and reaching for the female officer’s gun, when Mitchell hit one of the male officers in the back of his head.
Mitchell tried to run but was apprehended. He and his sister were both charged with assaulting a police officer.
The officer was treated for swelling to the head and later released.
