Lakehurst Cops Get the Picture with Body Cameras

LAKEHURST — A tiny camera is changing the way police officers look at the arrests they make in the borough.

“We now have an independent witness to anything that occurs,” said borough Police Chief Eric Higgins.

Police officers are outfitted with digital body cameras called Digital Ally. They are one of three Shore-area police departments, including Berkeley and Sea Girt, which have different, but similar, digital body cameras, he said.
