- Where did your company name originate from?
Impact is a customer service-oriented company and we wanted to have a position "impact" on our customers, the industry, the technology, etc.
- What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
To shake up the two-way radio accessory industry. We wanted to prove to dealers and end users that quality accessories at lower costs are possible and perform in the field.
- What is your signature product and how does it work?
Our signature product is a bone conduction, temple transducer headset for police and tactical applications. It's a two-way communications headset that allows the user to hear audio transmissions through the vibrations in their temples, as opposed to via their ear canal.
- Why do you believe your products are essential to your vertical (Police, Fire, EMS, Corrections, Government) community?
Portable two-way radios are very important safety tools for public safety and quality two-way audio accessories help enhance the value and function of portable two-way radios.
- What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
Managing our fast-paced growth. Impact has been a growing company for 12+ years, with growth exceeding 100 percent in some of those years.
- What makes your company unique?
We think outside the box. Numbers and bottom line don't call the shots or dictate policy, our customers do.
- What do your customers like best about you and your products?
Our attitude, effort and always trying to go the extra mile to match a specific product to the user's needs and budget.
- What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder/local government community?
Hearing feedback about how Impact products helped first responders do their job more effectively and safely.
- Do you support any charitable organizations within public safety/community? Tell us more.
Impact supports a wide array of community organizations, not just public safety specifically. We have supported everything from mental health services for youth, women's shelters, community safety programs, disaster relief efforts and Cops for Kids. While we do support public safety charities directly, we believe supporting the community as a whole indirectly supports our first responders and the important work they do.
- What’s next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
You tell us. We listen to our users’ needs and concerns and attempt to help them fill those needs via product development and customer service.
