Anticipate addresses when responding to domestics
Submitted by Instructor Dan Lehr, Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center
We all know it's not safe to park in front of the residence at a domestic disturbance, but how often have you found yourself searching for house numbers to locate the residence?
Teamwork between patrol and dispatch can make responding to domestics safer. Dispatch can ask the reporting party to describe the residence, its location on the block, or vehicles parked in front. This makes it easier for officers to approach unobserved.
