Intro: As a police officer and detective for over 10 years, I have seen the need for a product like the Magnetactical belt clip in law enforcement and military applications. In case of injury to an upper extremity during a combat situation, cops train for one-handed drawing, shooting and reloading of a handgun. However, those techniques can be slow and cumbersome. The time required is greatly reduced with the Magnetactical belt clip. As we all know, time is key to surviving and winning a combat situation.
Where did your company name originate from?
It is a tactical product that uses a powerful rare earth magnet to accomplish its tasks. Hence, ‘Magnetactical.’
What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
I wanted to produce this product because I saw the need for it and knew there had to be a much more effective means to complete one-handed shooting drills with both weapon and support hands. Years ago, one of my shooting instructors said during a one-handed shooting session, “Sorry guys, this is the easiest we can make it.” The current techniques taught, while useful, are slow and cumbersome. By using the Magnetactical belt clip, the ease and speed of one-handed drawing, shooting and reloading are greatly improved.
Why do you believe your products are essential to the police community?
The belt clip’s unique ability to assist in one-handed handgun combat has the potential to save lives during armed confrontations with suspects.
What makes your company unique?
The company and product were created by a current police detective. We are not a large conglomerate company – we’re a small, localized operation based out of Utah.
What do your customers like best about you and your products?
The unique characteristics of the Magnetactical belt clip is what most customers have complimented us on. There is no other product like it on the market.
What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community?
The potential to saves lives is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community. It makes me feel good that a product I created might be the difference between life and death. If it saves just one life, then it has all been well worth it.
Do you support any charitable organizations within public safety?
Magnetactical LLC has supported and sponsored local Utah organizations such as the Utah Police Officers Association (UPOA) and a local Baker to Vegas relay team.
Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share with our users about you or your company?
While working daily with these powerful magnets, I have had to learn how to not get my fingers pinched in between them before they are placed inside the plastic belt clip. I’m a pro at it now.
What’s next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
We will be introducing several new designs in the future. The original design will be changed to have a more squared top and bottom edge. The original magnet size will also come in a shorter clip to better fit training belts, detective belts, off duty belts or concealed carry belts, as well as a taller clip to accommodate MOLLE gear and military belts. A larger, more powerful magnet will also be implemented in three more designs. These new designs should accommodate all users and their various needs. We are very excited about the future of Magnetactical LLC and hope our business will continue to be prosperous.
