Motor Officer Gear by Helmet House Launches 2014 Law Enforcement Model Helmet Line
Calabasas Hills, CA - Motor Office Gear, the nation's largest supplier of motor officer helmets, announced today the immediate availability of their 2014 Shoei and HJC motor officer helmet line.
Leading the 2014 model line is the Shoei Neotec LE Modular helmet. The Neotec offers officers protection, comfort, and versatility with a designed shape and improved features that place it ahead of the rest. All ventilation mechanisms are shaped and positioned in such a way as to reduce any possible drag. The chin bar’s “Vortex Generators” reduce turbulence, noise, and manage airflow around the helmet. A redesigned aerodynamic spoiler also helps to cut lift, reducing neck strain on long rides. The face cover is connected to the same axis point and mechanism as its shield, minimizing extra parts. This also enables simultaneous closing of the shield with the face cover, which is then held in place with an easy-open lock release button.
Shoei’s 360 degree Pivot Locking System is made of high quality stainless steel components to ensure a safe and secure closure when the chin-bar is in the down, locked position. Shoei now includes a built-in sun shield. The visor tucks neatly away beneath a non-intrusive shell built into the helmet’s liner, and can be lowered with the easy control of a sliding button. The use of a “Dual ridge Window Bead” results in a quiet and tightly sealed face shield closure.
The shield also comes with built-in pins for Pinlock Anti-fog lenses, which transform single shields into dual shields which resist fog buildup. The lens has been newly designed to cover a larger area on the shield, increasing peripheral vision. The interior of the Neotec is fully removable and has been designed for fine adjustment and easy maintenance. The helmet uses three different shell sizes and has improved design in the shape of cheek pads to allow for better fit around the earpieces for eyeglasses, reducing the gaps in order to cut invasive exterior noise.
The longest running helmet in the line-up, and still a top choice among agencies is the Shoei RJ Platinum LE. This helmet is the top of the line in a lightweight, durable ¾ coverage helmets. Its shell offers a high-performance combination of advanced materials producing a lightweight shell with increased rigidity and elasticity, reducing inertia and impact energy in an accident. The RJ Platinum LE has a fully removable liner and cheek pads, is communication system compatible, and meets or exceeds both DOT and Snell 2010 helmet standards.
New to the motor officer for 2014 is the Shoei J-Cruise ¾ open face helmet. This is the premium open-face helmet for today’s motor officer. State-of-the-art, high tech protection combines with open-air freedom for a safe and exhilarating experience. A lightweight helmet with a built in sun visor to give the officer instant relief from sun glare, and a wide three dimensionally curved shield offer increased peripheral vision and optical clarity. The liner and cheek pads are also removable for washing or replacement.
HJC is no stranger to motor officer helmets. And they have 3 models to choose from. The RPHA Max modular helmet is the upper end offering from HJC. This helmet is extremely light, quiet, and comfortable. It also has a built in sun visor along with removable, washable interior. And the shield comes with a Pinlock anti-fog lens. The Sy-max 3 modular helmet has been used by motor officers for many years now. This helmet has a built in sun visor, is Pinlock ready, and has a removable / washable liner.
And a new helmet for 2014 is an HJC half helmet called the CS-2N. It is a lightweight helmet with dual forehead venting keeping the officer's head cooler on warm days on the job. A removable and washable Nylex zip-off neck curtain are also offered.
