I’ve had Spyderco knives on my mind for several months, and my visit in Las Vegas only reinforced that interest.

During SHOT Show 2013, I stopped by the Spyderco booth, where Kristi Hunter of Spyderco gave me the tour of their new product line. As you can read here, I’ve had Spyderco knives on my mind for several months, and my visit in Las Vegas only reinforced that interest.

One of the most notable products in their OpFocus catalog is their lightweight Manix2 series, which comes in a 3.85” or 3.37” blade and their ball bearing locking mechanism.

The full flat grind CTS-BD1 and fiberglass-reinforced co-polymer (FRCP) scales compliment one of the smoothest and most rugged locking mechanisms on the planet.

This, by the way, may explain why this knife is inscribed with the words “Golden, Colorado, USA, Earth” on the blade.

Spyderco has also released the Manbug series of knives, not to be confused with the Ladybug knives.

When I saw the Manbug Lightweight (MGRE, pictured) knife, I noticed immediately the potential for using it as a neck knife. You see, my patrol vest kept unsheathing my old neck knife. The Manbug would have the same advantage, only it would be safer.

Also pictured is a Terzuola Starmate. When Kristi showed me this knife, I immediately said, “That’s a Terzuola.”

She commented that her job was pretty easy when she shows knives to knife enthusiasts. For readers who know what this knife is, the Starmate is back and my comments do not need explanation.

Thanks, Kristi.

Thanks Spyderco.

You’re going to have a whole new generation of Terzuola fans.
