Most readers are familiar with the STI line of 1911s and the quality that goes into them. Since STI is employee owned you can just about count on a quality gun. After all employees have a monetary investment which tends to drive everyone at the company to make the best pistol possible.
This new Hex Tactical Pistol Line has an aggressive slide sculpting providing the user with a positive grip surface which runs almost the entire length of the slide. The slide also features a triangular shape on top with an angle on both right and left side and a flat top. As with most new pistols these days the Hex comes with a fiber optic front sight and a U shaped notch rear sight which is also becoming very common as well as popular with shooters.
The Hex line comes in 2011 double stack and single stack 1911 models. All models have a rail for mounting lights and lasers. A wide magwell is also provided on the 2011 model while the single stack has a more traditional thinner magwell extension. Both models are available in 4 inch barrel and 5 inch barrel lengths.
All Hex models have a black Cerakote finish for durability. VZ grips are standard on all models. Most VZ grips have an aggressive finish providing a secure grip in any weather. The DS or double stack models MSRP is $2599.00 while the single stack MSRP is $2099.00 regardless of barrel length. Any of the models are available in 9mm or 45 acp.
