SC deputies test AXON body cameras

Adoption of the cameras, which are mounted above the ears, will happen as technological and budgetary concerns allow

ANDERSON, S.C. — About a dozen Anderson County sheriff's deputies wore small video cameras mounted above their ears on hard-plastic headbands during a test run this summer.

The deputies, members of the county's CATCH team, received a free trial sample of the AXON cameras from Taser International, the company that makes the eponymous stun guns. The trial has ended but those or similar cameras could someday come back for more deputies in the county.
