TASER ends standoff with suicidal mom, son

The mentally ill woman barricaded herself in a home and threatened to kill herself and her 10-year-old son

PHILADELPHIA — A mentally ill woman with a gun who had threatened to kill herself and her 10-year-old was taken in to custody Friday by police using a Taser stun gun, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said.

Alicia Vicario, 37, had been staying at a house on Houston Road that was owned by a friend, but she overstayed her welcome and refused to leave, police said.
